# 81 TF Sport Corvette makes the podium at 2025 Le Mans
Tom Van Rompuy, Rui Andrade and Charlie Eastwood finished third in the # 81 Z06 GT3.R Corvette of TF Sport from the UK when the checkered flag flew after 24 hours at the world’s greatest endurance race.
It was a noteworthy accomplishment, starting 6th against 9 manufacturers in the LMGT3 field consisting of 24 cars.
There were no incidents except for a drive-through penalty in the 7th hour from which they recovered.
Strategy and racing luck played a role as the Corvette is still not quite up to pace to compete head-to-head.
Ben Keating, Daniel Juncadella and Charlie Edgar started way back in 23rd in the # 33 Z06 GT3.R Corvette and managed to finish 7th, 2 laps down.
This is also a noteworthy accomplishment because there was a problem to fix a wheel near the halfway point of the race.
Much has been made of the AWA Team from Canada which won a special award that gave the IMSA team a spot at Le Mans with their # 13 Z06 GT3.R Corvette decked out in red for the big occasion.
This team was jubilant to say the least, starting 20 th and finishing 10 th, piloted by Orey Fidani, Lars Kern and Matt Bell.
Credit is due to the folks at TF Sport for set-up advice and tips on Goodyear tires mandated by the WEC vs Michelins required by IMSA.
The LMGT3 class was won by the # 92 Porsche 911 GT3.R piloted by Ryan Hardwick, Riccardo Pera and Richard Lietz of the Manthey Phorm team, a well-established team which has always been a strong force.
