Spectacular results for Callaway C7 GT3R Corvettes at the Lausitzring
Jules Guonon in the # 77 Roller/Valvoline was first to the checkered flag on Sunday in front of 70,000 cheering fans. Patrick Assenheimer finished 2nd in the # 69 AutoArena.
Dominik Schwager led from pole but the # 69 but was slowed by a Lambo Hurrican exiting the pits during the driver change.
That gave the lead to Daniel Keilwitz in the # 77 who handed off the car to Jules Guonon a few laps later for the win.
The # 31 Whelen Corvette of Boris Said & Loris Hezemans was classified in 10 th place earning their first points of the season. Qualifying was plagued by a power steering problem. With that solved they climbed to 12th and were moved up two spots due to penalty infractions incurred by 2 higher placed cars.
Callaway Corvettes served notice in Saturday’s race. Assenheimer/Schwager made the podium and Keilwitz/Guonon finished 4th.
Sven Barth & Remo Lips, stalwarts in the gentleman’s class were penalized on Saturday from 8th for passing under the yellow. The # 13 RWT C6 GT3R was built by Callaway.

The ADAC-GT German Masters series is highly competitive featuring 8 different “supercar” marques and full grids of about 35 cars. Next is the Red Bull Ring in Austria on July 22-24.
