# 23 Amy Ruman ranks 3rd in the championship with a top 5 at VIR
With 2 races remaining, Ruman is poised for 3rd in the standings.
Propelled by consistent top finishes in nearly all of the 9 races beginning with the season opener at Sebring.
# 59 Simon Gregg who finished 9th at VIR still has a shot for 4th in the standings despite a that commitment forced him to miss Watkins Glen.
Richard Grant had another good outing and was 6th behind Ruman.
Boris Said won the race in his Pancho Weaver built TA Dodge Challenger but not before the long time Pro teamed up with Jim Caudle and his 1969 Corvette (DNF) in Saturday’s VROC (Vintage Race of Champions) - a creation stemming from the ProAm Charity races starting with the 2014 inaugural SVRA Indy Invitational.
We can always can count on Tony Ave, another long time Pro and major force to make an impact when the opportunity arises. At VIR it was jumping into the # 04 Corvette his team provides for 20-year old Natalie Decker who was off racing in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series. Ave qualified really strong and was a threat to win except for a mechanical glitch that took him out on lap 5 of the 31-lap race.
South Floridian Joe Moholland and local Randy Kinsland were bested in the SGT Class.
