3. # 3 - 2020 USCR winners.jpg

Playing before a limited number of fans allowed into Mid-Ohio on Sept 27, # 3 C8.R Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor won their 4th race this year, extending their lead in the driver and manufacturer’s standings.

5. # 3 - 2020 USCR Mid-Ohio 01a.jpg

Oliver Gavin jumped Taylor from pole and led for 17 laps before a slight bobble at the end of the backstraight let Taylor slip by and lead the rest of the way.

6. # 3 & 4 - 2020 USCR Mid-Ohio 03 pit.jpg

Even though the # 4 was not quite as well dialed in, three full-course cautions and mistake-free pit stops made for a close finish.  Gavin & Tommy Milner are second in the points.

The coronavirus has pretty much wiped out pre-race testing so teams use simulations for baseline set-ups before the cars arrive at the track.  Chevy’s system is called Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL).

Missing at Mid-Ohio was the arch rival CORE Autosport Porsche team because 3 of their drivers were quarantined having opted to race at Le Mans the previous week.

That left only the BMWs of Rahal-Letterman, here is # 25 Bruno Spengler that slid off course on lap 1.

Coming up next on Oct 10 is a battle on a tricky artificial circuit called the ROVAL on the infield confines of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.  It promises to be entertaining.
