Tomy Drissi Corvette # 8 top Corvette at CoTA after 3 race absence; new champ Ernie Francis Jr Mustang # 98 nips Lawrence Loshak in the hot new Burtin Racing Camaro # 50 for his 9th win of 2017
Tomy Drissi, in the # 8 Murder on the Orient Express Corvette finished third on the TA podium after starting 6th.
Reigning champ Amy Ruman in the # 23 McNichols Supply Corvette ran as high as second but finished fourth.
At age 19, Ernie Francis Jr has made his mark and could be headed to a higher level next year.
Lawrence Loshak is the latest of three proven drivers recruited by Claudio Burtin to pilot his new # 50 TA Camaro. One win and 2 second place results mark a huge improvement compared with Claudio’s struggle to rejuvenate his racing career in the # 7 Foametex Corvette. (learned it will be re-bodied as Camaro which reportedly generate better front-end downforce)
Simon Gregg # 59 Corvette rounded out the top five. Vinnie Allegretta # 41 Corvette was 7th, having lost his edge he hopes to regain at Daytona.
