A weekend to forget about at Nurburgring
The points leading # 77 driven by Daniel Keilwitz and Jules Guonon made contact and was DSQ attempting to move up quickly from grid p 17 in Sunday’s race.
They qualified 5 th & finished 6 th on Saturday.
The # 69 of Patrick Assenheimer and Dominik Schwager did not fare much better classified 27th five laps behind the winning Audi R8.
Remo Lips & Sven Barth in the # 13 C6 also were 26 th in the gentleman’s class.
# 31 Whelen C7R.GT3 team was a DNS because drivers Boris Said and Eric Curran had commitments in the US. Said finished 24 th in the NASCAR Sprint car series Cheez-it 355 race on the Watkins Glen road circuit.
Curran and Dane Cameron were first overall in the # 31 Whelen DP Corvette at Road America. They have a great shot to win the championship.
The Callaway team hopes to rebound at Zandvort in the Netherlands on Aug 21/22.
