Trans Am CoTA

Paul Fix dominates at CoTA, leads Amy Ruman going into finale at Daytona

# 50 Paul Fix started from pole and easily led all 30 laps including a pit stop.  His 5th victory gives him an 8 point advantage over Amy Ruman for the championship heading into the finale at Daytona.

# 23 Amy Ruman, last year’s champion slipped to finish 3rd behind # 41 Vincent Allegratta who charged from 8th and climbed up to 2nd by the 25th lap.

Trans Am organizers decreed that C6 bodied Corvettes are no longer eligible in TA.  Ruman Racing will fit their car with a C7 body acquired from David Pintaric who switched to a Cadillac.  New TA bodies are also mandated for Camaro & Dodge Challenger manufactured by Derhaag and Advanced Composite Products.

# 59 Simon Gregg was 4th followed by # 57 David Pintaric who had another good race finishing 5th.

# 98 Ernie Francis, having won the TA2 championship in his Camaro was a newcomer in a TA3 Corvette.  He set fasted lap but finished 6th in class.
