Why risk it in the opening minutes of a six (6) hour endurance race?  Big downside vs little upside.  Hi-speed esses, racing line transitions abruptly, blind exit, scene of some heavy crashes.  Hard to shrug off as “one of them racin’ deals”.

With the sister car out, Garcia and Jan Magnussen battled without fail against the evenly matched GTLM field.

They actually led four times but an errant pit call expecting a full-course caution later in the race cost them track position.  The race stayed green, the strategy backfired, hurting their chances.

Runner up is not to be sneezed at and the drivers are just 1 point behind in the GTLM standings.

# 4 - 2019 IMSA WG wreck 01.jpg

With Mosport next, the crew has just 6 days to repair the # 4, the backup chassis that was put into service at Le Mans # 64.

Per latest report, car repaired, Milner recovering from injured left hand, Fassler filling in at Mosport.
