Amy Ruman rebounds at Road America

# 23 Amy Ruman moved up to 4th near the end but fell short of the # 36 Mustang of “local” Cliff Ebben.   She qualified 7th held up by traffic and ran with # 6 Mustang of Greg Pickett, and # 8 Camaro Tomy Drissi for a good part of the race.

Experience also paid off for # 31 Dave Ruehlow, another “local” GT1 racer who finished 7th in a 29-car TA/TA3/TA4 field.

# 44 Natalie Decker finished 25th in a one-race deal with family friend Tony Ave who set her up in a Corvette.  She is beginning her racing career mostly focused on stock cars.

Trans Am regular # 59 Simon Gregg blew a motor, as did others running high compression, and finished 26th. The particular blend of Sunoco fuel is blamed by some.

A big crowd turned out on Saturday at Road America for a combined slate of SCCA Trans Am and NASCAR Xfinity races.
