# 3 Jan Magnussen goes off, settles for 2nd in the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park
Passing the # 63 GTD Ferrari 488, Jan Magnussen’s # 3 Corvette slid wide as his left front tire lost grip under heavy load in the downhill sweeper. That glitch opened the way for Joey Hand, # 66 Ford GT to take the win in the closing stages of the race. Watch it unfold here!!
Engineering and experience paid off in setting up both cars (including new springs & shocks for # 4)
Antonio Garcia won the pole and Tommy Milner was 3rd behind the # 912 Porsche RSR of Laurent Vanthoor.
With cars lapping this short 1.53-mile circuit in under a minute, traffic is everywhere even with entries confined to GTLM & GTD (no prototypes).
Garcia and Magnussen held track position and the lead for 80 % of the race but it proved not enough to close out the win.
Gavin and Milner finished in the top half of the 8 car GTLM field.
Michelin offers several compounds and advice to help engineers and drivers come up with the best race strategy.
Having finished a solid 2nd in three straight races during this critical juncture in the season, Magnussen and Garcia lag just one point in the driver standings.
