Corvettes finish 1-2-3 in Group 6 at 2018 Sonoma Historics
# 17 Randy Peterson took first in a 31-car field at Sonoma Raceway (a/k/a Sears Point). Randy drives a C3 1968 SCCA BP out of his professional shop just up the road. Same chassis in which the late Gary Carlin ran most of the nationwide Trans Am schedule on a shoestring back in 1973.
# 5 Jeff Abramson, ex Mark Nemschoff (also prepped by Peterson) was second and # 65 Chris Springer, ex Larry Park was third.
Today the Sonoma Historics is the only major race exclusively for cars built to strict period-correct specs in a nod to Steve Earl, legendary founder of US vintage racing in 1974.

And C1 Straight Axles # 6 Chandler Briscoe ex Paul Reinhart and # 43 Russ Uzes ex Bob Dye.
# 88 Mike Malone, ex Darrin Brassfield TA took 3rd and # 5 John Goodman, ex Wally Dallenbach IMSA GTO was 16th in the 23 car Group 12/13 race for IMSA, Trans Am and GT1. 3D-printed plastic body pieces and decals are now available to create 1/25 scale models of these significant C4 race cars still seeing action.
