# 4 Tommy Milner & Oliver Gavin repeat as GTLM winners at the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach
The # 3 and # 4 Corvettes each gained track position via quicker pit stops than rival Ford GTs during full course yellow about 40 min into the 100 min race.
Thanks to racing breaks, Milner overtook the leading Porsches that incurred damages (body to # 911 Nick Tandy) and (right front suspension to # 912 Earl Bamber).
Antonio Garcia in the # 3 was set to win but for a mishap that crew chief Dan Binks described as a clutch override. An electronic glitch dropped the car into neutral through the hairpin. That brief slip allowed Milner and both Ford GTs to get by.
Milner, who was leading by three seconds, described a scary moment in the closing laps, nearly losing traction as the racing line grew slicker. In Tommy's words (short video)
This victory marks Corvette Racing’s 107th all-time win and its 7th in 11 years at Long Beach. Oliver Gavin is now the winningest driver by notching his 50th.
GM honchos celebrated a perfect afternoon as the # 5 Action Express Caddy of Felipe Albuquerque and Jao Barboza won the prototype class.
