Paul Fix wins VIR for second year in a row
Dreadfully wet conditions all weekend did not bother pole qualifier and winner # 4 Paul Fix. He laid back and let the race come his way as others fought a slippery track including points leader # 23 Amy Ruman who slid off on lap 7. She recovered to finish 5th and still leads Fix in points 252 to 238 heading into the last 3 races of the 12 race season.
The championship could well be decided at the Daytona finale where the Trans-Am shares billing with the HSR Classic 24 hour race.
# 57 David Pintaric took second place, his best finish to date.
# 19 Kerry Hitt’s Corvette appeared re-bodied as a Cadillac CTS-V manufactured by his Advanced Composite Products Company. # 87 Doug Peterson’s Tony Ave Corvette received a similar treatment 2 races earlier at Mid-Ohio.
