CoTA results keep # 90 SDR DP in the lead for the title; # 3 Corvette Racing is 3rd in GTLM going into the finale
By finishing 3rd, Westbrook & Valiente have a 6 point lead for the DP Championship; yet anything can happen at the 10 hour Petite Le Mans giving the Action Express # 5 & Whelen # 31 teams a fair shot to win.
# 10 Wayne Taylor racing their DP Dallara chassis denied the contenders valuable points by finishing 2nd. Scott Pruitt & Joey Hand in their # 01 Ganassi Riley-Ford EcoBoost V6 turbo took a win for the first time all season by other than a Corvette bodied chassis.
# 3 Magnussen & Garcia finished 6th in GTLM having dropped off pace for a late fuel stop. The # 911 & # 912 Porsches, even with added weight, again set the pace. But in the final 2 minutes, they also needed fuel and gave up their top spots to BMW & Ferrari. The # 3 Corvette has a lot to overcome trailing Porsche & BMW by 10 points heading into the finale.
# 4 Gavin & Milner had a tough time keeping up due to excessive tire wear.
