Delmo Johnson acquired this car from John Mecom to race at Sebring in 1964.  Mecom, a wealthy Texas oilman rescued three Grand Sport coupes a year earlier when GM shut down Duntov's secret program.  He put up money to develop and race them at the Nassau Bahamma races in Dec 1963.  This car is owned by the Collier Collection in Naples FL and has seen action in vintage racing.  More details:  http://registryofcorvetteracecars.com/ee/index.php/site/view_cars/413
